HIVE<\/strong> is a 3D-printed masonry structure developed by a team from the University of Waterloo<\/strong> in Toronto, Canada. The wall was designed by SDI Interior Design<\/strong> for the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The structure consists of 175 unique 3D-printed clay bricks<\/strong>, each shaped with different openings that create a balanced combination of privacy and natural light.<\/p>\n

The bricks are assembled in a hexagonal pattern<\/strong>, forming a structurally efficient structure inspired by the construction of a honeycomb.<\/p>\n

The development process included extensive testing of materials, design, and production methods. The team combined traditional ceramic materials with advanced geometric design and robot-controlled precision to create the finished structure. <\/p>\n

The project demonstrates how traditional ceramic craftsmanship<\/strong> can be combined with modern digital manufacturing<\/strong>, opening up new possibilities in material use and enabling a high degree of geometric complexity in masonry structures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n
