Individual façade nodes

The research group FLEX at Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft and Kultur Leipzig (HTWK Leipzig) and Laserinstitut Hochschule Mittweida (LHM) has developed InNoFa2.0 – a façade component based on individual nodes.

The component is manufactured using a new large-scale, powder-based 3D printing technology that combines technologies from several different additive manufacturing processes. This method significantly increases material throughput during production, reduces printing time, and lowers material costs.

The technology has significant potential for manufacturing larger components and structures.

The InNoFa2.0 demonstrator is based on the ParaKnot3D concept, a hybrid structure that combines straight rods with individually manufactured nodes to create optimised, free-form structures.
