Skilled Workers 4.0
We want to create a new generation of skilled workers
The vision for Skilled Workers 4.0 is to create a new generation of skilled workers who master digital production, circular thinking, and hands-on innovation, while also incorporating a consciously sustainable choice of materials.

About the project
Skilled Workers 4.0 is supported by the Tietgen Foundation and is carried out in collaboration with Herningsholm Vocational School. Through the project, students will be introduced to 3D printing and bio-based building materials through challenges, where they learn how to leverage the potential of incorporating circular practices, as well as how this is already being done in industry. At the same time, vocational students across other schools will work with 3D printing and sustainable materials in a scaled-up version of the Danish Championship in 3D printing. The aim is to spark students’ interest while also teaching them to work innovatively.
The combination of 3D printing and bio-based materials can be a game changer in how we manufacture today, moving it in a more circular and sustainable direction. It can also help strengthen Denmark’s position as a circular country, but if we want this change, it requires that the skilled workers of the future do not simply follow the status quo, but instead gain knowledge and experience with new production technologies and circular materials-especially biogenic ones.
This will enable them to drive the industry’s development and transition to greener production processes.
